The following paragraphs describe in more detail the information gathering and dissemination practices for the TPMA website ( and how your information is used and shared. Your information will not be sold or traded to a third-party at any time.

What does the TPMA do with the Information You Provide?

TPMA Registration

The TPMA registration form requires registrants to provide contact information (like name, company), demographic information (like industry, size of company) and unique preferences.

The information we gather from our members helps us personalize and continually improve the benefits we offer our membership. This information can better help us understand the interests and backgrounds of our members and can be used in the selection process for guest speakers. It can also be used to send information you requested.

This information may also be used in aggregated form when combined with all membership data (e.g. the number of members from a particular industry) for purposes of attracting quality services and benefits for our members. No individual information is ever given to a third party without your permission.

TPMA Membership Forums

The TPMA website makes chat rooms, forums, message boards, and/or news groups available to its members. Please remember that any information that is disclosed in these areas becomes public information and you should exercise caution when deciding to disclose your personal information when replying to or creating new online posts.

How Secure Is Information About Me?

It is important for you to protect against unauthorized access to your password and to your computer. Be sure to sign off when finished using a shared computer.


Your membership profile is protected by a password. You choose a password when you first register to become a member. Do not share your password with anyone else.

Make sure to select a password that isn't obvious. A good password includes seemingly random letters and numbers, for example, F3M8N1. You can change your password at any time, and you can set a new password if you forget your old one.


Cookies are text files that are placed in your computer's browser to store your preferences. Cookies, by themselves, do not disclose your e-mail address or other personally identifiable information unless you choose to provide this information. Information in cookies includes preferences you select while visiting a particular Web site. For example, by storing cookies on your hard drive, you'll return to a specific Web site with the same settings you used on a previous visit. TPMA never saves information such as your password or credit card number (if applicable) using cookies. We do require cookies in order to manage and protect your TPMA session, and if you choose, to store your TPMA login id. If you have cookies turned off, you will not be able to access the TPMA members' area.

If you choose to visit the Toronto Product Management Association website, your visit and any dispute over privacy are subject to this Notice, including limitations on damages, arbitration of disputes, and application of the law of the Province of Ontario. If you have any concern about privacy at the Toronto Product Management Association, please send us a detailed description to, and we will try to resolve it.
